Research Interests

My basic concern is an experimental analysis of the development of the cognitive processes that determine individual differences in intelligence. This goal led me into such areas as normal-retardate differences in short-term memory, visual-perceptual development of infants, memory processes in the infant, attention and memory in the brain-damaged, and in the elderly with probably Alzheimer disease. My current empirical work is focused on the role of socio-cultural factors in intelligence at all ages. My chief theoretical goal is an explanation of the nature of intelligence as information processing.
